2026 Presidents Day Rush SF G16 Elite White

Coaches, team managers, players, parents, and siblings,

Thanks for attending was was arguably our most competitive Presidents' Day Rush futsal tournament ever at Spooky Nook on today. Here are some high-level stats from the day:

Games: 316
Games decided by 2 goals or fewer: 149 (47.2%)
Games decided by 6 goals or more (the max GD was set at 5): 65 (20.6%)
Average GD: 3.47 (our 2nd best ever in 13 years of running the Rush - and the only better year was when each team played 4 games - more on that later. Our historical average is 4.09)

Although we know that each team will always have their own unique experience, we strive to create the best competition and the best overall tournament experience possible, and this is how we hold ourselves accountable.

New Exposure App Was Smooth
Our switch to Exposure instead of Tourney Machine seemed like a winner. Other than some annoying ads, the app was easy to use and updated quickly. The right teams showed up to the right courts and games started and ended on time. The refs that did the score reporting got them entered quickly and accurately about 99% of the time.

29 Champions Were Crowned
Congrats to all our Champions and Finalists! Last year we had 150 teams, so we ordered medals based on an estimate of 175 teams. And then we blew past that number and had 192. We had some anxious moments waiting to see if we'd have enough medals for the last teams to finish.

Next Up: The EPIC Cup in April/May

Next Year's Tourneys - 4 Games Guaranteed?
Mark your calendar for Mon Feb 15, 2027 for our 14th edition of the Presidents' Day Rush as well as our other futsal events in Nov, Dec, and Jan. I mentioned earlier that this year was arguably our most competitive, but it was actually our 2nd best ever average goal differential. The one year it was better (by .01): 2021 when we scheduled a 4th game for every team.

4 Games for Every Team?
If we scheduled a 4th game for every team, instead of just having A1 vs B1 in the Championship Game, we'd also schedule A2 vs B2, A3 vs B3, and A4 vs B4 as 3rd/5th/7th place games. We love this format because it gives every team a really competitive last game of the day, but it obviously increases our court space needs and costs. So my question is this: did you like the way it was this year (3 games guaranteed, $185 entry fee), or would you rather have paid a little more per team (about $40 more) and been guaranteed a 4th game? Let me know if you have an opinion.
